Trades
NYI
  1. Blackwood, Mackenzie
  2. Bratt, Jesper [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
All four guys are on Seravalli's trade board. I'm just messing around with ideas.
NJD
  1. Beauvillier, Anthony
  2. Varlamov, Semyon
Additional Details:
On the surface it seems to make sense. NJ upgrades in goal. Beau is still a young/talented player but he will be cheaper than Bratt and it doesn't take them out of the running for a Fiala type trade as well

After the season Bratt had I think Isles needs to add. Quite considerably in fact.

It's not in NJ's interest to deal Bratt, especially to a division rival.

I think the Isles would add too, but it’s weird because Seravalli said Bratt could’ve been had at the last deadline. Seems counterintuitive. Maybe negotiations haven’t gone well, but seeing his name added this morning was a surprise to me. I personally think Seravalli is the best insider out there, so when there’s smoke…

Seravelli is completely ignoring Bratt's own agent saying that they have indeed spoken to the Devils several times about extending. It's absolutely journalistic malpractice.

"To my knowledge, there have been no contract extension talks to this point"

Seravalli doesn't know ****

And on what planet is Beauvillier "hard skill"? He's just a worse, older Bratt.

Seravalli feeling the pressure from his employer in generating more engagement and eyeballs from the hockey community.
A whole buncha nothing.

I like Seravalli and he's absolutely hustling to try to be first to things and what not in order to compete with the other Insiders but he has started Eklunding things up a little too much to drive up views.

Bratt isn't going anywhere right now and if he were, after the season he had, would be commanding a crazy cost to acquire. Its not just a little more than Beauviller and Varlamov. its a "yeah, never mind" amount more. Especially to a rival like NYI.

This is so atrociously bad for the devils. Like really- why would NJ give up a 23 year old point per game RFA, in addition to a young goalie who may still have some promise, for a decent asset and a slight upgrade in goal. That’s not even bringing up the fact that it’s within the division. This post is teetering on rangers/canadiens/maple leafs level of delusion.

There’s literally no smoke. Like, literally, there is nothing to be seen here. Brats agent came out and said they’re discussing a negotiation. Just a brutal, brutal take.
