Petry, Savard, Barron, Wideman are all RD options. I don’t see Barrie coming to MTL unless Petry is moves, but there’s no shot evans or poehling are involved imo

If Petry isn't traded, Montreal has zero interest in Barrie. If he is traded, Montreal isn't moving Evans and Poehling for Barrie.

The individual cap hits and years on the contract aren't significant for a team that has cap, a first is a great return. The question is how much more can they squeeze out of the Oilers.

Not really an overpay considering Poehling is now 23 with a very limited playing time, he's young enough to still have his break out but it might not be in MTL, reminds me of Mete. Evans is 26 and pretty sure he isn't a top 4 defender. Barrie i'm going to call Barrie a borderline top 4 def since he is a defensive liability.

I know any fanbase that is familiar with him is probably not excited for their gm to acquire him. Although if a team needs a pp quarterback i can see him getting acquired for cheap

If MTL were to take him on maybe they only give Poehling since Edm is in a tight cap position
