First of all, you're absolutely missing the point of my reply. You see, I'm a Rangers fan, I'm looking at this from the Rangers POV. Do you see what I mean? I am not super well versed in the Blackhawks organisation, so I can't really speak too much from that perspective, but I do know about the team I'm rooting for. I don't really care how the trade looks from your perspective, you're talking about how the Blackhawks wouldn't accept, but I'm saying this trade would hurt the Rangers. Do you see what I mean or do I have to dumb it down any more?
Now:
A) A rebuilding Chicago Blackhawks team, who've expressed interest in trading DeBrincat, wouldn't trade him for an excellent defensive prospect, a 21 y/o right winger projected to be a top 6 playmaker, two 1sts, a decent goalie, and.. well admittedly hunt sucks but still, it's an insanely good deal for the blackhawks. B) I meant we can't resign him because we don't have the cap space, him being an RFA doesn't change that. C) These are two high end prospects, one of which is a full-time NHLer, and two firsts, are you blind? Admittedly those firsts are most likely mid-late 1sts, but it's still really solid value. Plus a solid goaltender with starter potential, something Chicago genuinely needs.
Chicago holds the cards, not the Rangers so really it doesn't matter if you're speaking from the Rangers POV or not, because all that matters is Chicago's viewpoint not your POV. Do you not understand that or do I need to dumb it down "anymore" (which is one word not two...the irony LMAO)!
A) Hawks will want an elite level prospect and high end drafts picks as been reported, this isn't it. The jury is out on KK, no different then Dach. I don't consider either to be a elite prospect at this point...top 6 guys sure but not elite level. Lundkvist is fine but we have Mitchell and Regula who need NHL ice time and both very solid RHD prospects and Murphy and Jones in the top two spots so Lundkvist doesn't fill a hole; which there are many but that isn't it. The two late 1sts don't move the needle either; we got 2 late firsts and Raddysh for Hagel; Cat is world's better and more valuable. B) Cap gymnastics, you move pieces around to keep a 40+ goal scorer simply put. C) Already addressed, but simply put, better offers will be available for Cat IF the Hawks want to move him. Hawks also have two very good goalie prospects in Commesso and Soderblom so no, they don't need a goalie either. Rangers are a bad landing spot as they have the assets but fans don't want to give up the right ones which is fine.
And lastly, I'm not blind either since I'm clearly reading and writing.
