Nucks get killed in that wild trade
How? This is much worse for Minnesota.
Vancouver is clearing $5-6M in available capspace, while Minnesota is nearly taking on twice the cap hit of what it's sending out. How the hell does Vancouver get killed here, exactly?
The entire reason of moving out Dumba and Jost's combined $8M cap hits would be to resign Fiala.
So we're going to just willingly accept a player that costs as much as Dumba back in a trade? Especially since he's a much worse defenseman than what's being given up, for the exact same cap hit. How does that work?
Then we're going to blow that even further by also taking back Boeser who's upcoming cap hit negates Fiala's upcoming cap hit. And I'd much rather keep Fiala, over having Boeser, because he's a better player.
It may look like Vancouver's losing out on this one, but it's far and away Minnesota who gets hosed here. Canucks are upgrading at D, clearing out $5-6M in cap space, and can now keep Miller. Who's more important to them than Boeser.
Rathbone's just there to dump Meyers and he's nowhere near enough incentive to make Minnesota even remotely consider this.
