Not a bad idea, but I think it needs to fill more holes, possibly a goalie/dman/forward, anderson for 5 is interesting to set payroll going forward and budget. Adds a veteran scorer, would interested in knowing what Caufield is looking for 2 years, 5 years and or 8 years. Tough to trade 2 without haveing a future outlook. Not sure if that late first is that important for such a young team like the devils.

Montreal isn’t trading Caufield period, especially in that awful deal

The amount of bent out of shape habs fans should be fun, when their proposals are no better or worse

Awful deal? It’s a hell of a lot better than the **** MTL fans post all over social media. “Anderson for the number 2 pick should work!”

As a Devils fan that‘s probably the best offer for 2OA I‘ve seen so far. Should tell you enough about where the bar‘s at 😂

MTL definitely isn't trading Caufield, Suzuki,Guhle, Romanov.
NJ would probably want one of those In a trade for 2nd so that's why I trade between these 2 teams just won't work. I love Anderson he's bring a lot more to the team than just "40pts" that's for sure but him alone definitely doesn't get it done and him with a B prospect and a pick doesn't either. NJ will only trade the 2nd overall if it's an offer they can't refuse.

Montreals not gonna make this deal because Caufield is untouchable, but yes, it would have to be something like this to get NJ to consider moving 2 OA.

makes zero sense for MTL to trade Caufield for 2nd OA, they already have a scorer in Caufield and they would have to hope that Slaf would end up as good or better than Caufield

It also makes zero sense for NJ to trade 2OA for anything on the Habs other than Caufield, so here we are.

yup, NJD whant a player that can help them now not in 2-3 years so they would have to trade 2nd OA to a team that is rebuilding and want to trade established players for picks.

Which is why I fail to see the reason for so many of these deals. May as well make deals for Auston Matthews. No one will match the Devils price, they’ll roll the dice on Slaf

I’ve seen Guhle, 2023 1st and Caufield. Plenty of ridiculous offers from Devils fans.

Devils fans have also refused in majority an ACGM w/ Anderson, 2023 1st unprotected and Guhle. Which is beyond crazy! That’s the value of 3 1sts with a high chance of the 2023 being in the lottery for Bedard/Michkov

They’re definitely worse. By quite a lot.

2 for Cole
Zacha for CGY1
Kuok for Anderson (who is bad)

It’s not good, but it’s still better than Anderson, sex pest, and 26 for 2 and Zacha

2023 1st is indeed something interesting.. But still the Devils have no use for either Anderson, nor Guhle.

Then Devils would be the 1st team not to need a power forward in high demand as reported by Seravalli and a top pair LD prospect that has starred for the Oil Kings( winning the WHL MVP) Ridiculous.

Even if you couldn’t fit him in the lineup, hilarious btw. They are trade assets at the worst. Guhle is the most promising LD from that 2020 draft and would go top10 in a redraft. Anderson will go for a 1st round pick plus in a trade despite whatever feelings you have over his value much like Chiarot, Josh, he’s in a lot of Gms top targets list.

Now, that‘s good for you if Anderson is worth that much. But that won‘t change the fact that Anderson if overpaid, has too much term on his contract and is to old for our core.

And Ty Smith had an even better WHL career but i don‘t know why this should have any relevance when we‘re talking trades.

Habs fans think Anderson is a valueable asset when he’s a negative asset if Habs fans really want the 2nd they would have to give up CauField or Suzuki

This is the same malarkey spewed over Chiarot. It’s not Habs fans, it’s reality. Try to enter it!

From Pierre Lebrun

“Meanwhile, teams keep calling on Josh Anderson (among them the Oilers, I hear) and what they’re being told by Canadiens GM Kent Hughes is that he doesn’t intend to move him. They want him to be part of their rebuild. Having said that, there’s a sense if teams step up with a serious package led by a top prospect plus other assets that he could be pried away. But all things being equal, the Habs don’t really want to move him.“
