Description
Clearly one of the issues the Leafs had the playoffs was that they weren't physical enough. By getting a guy like Evander Kane helps out on the physical side and also can score points on a team like Toronto. Slot him on the second line with Tavares and Nylander can be beneficial for them, especially Nylander, as they were times it looked like Nylander forgot to put his shoulder pads against Tampa in round one. Tavares and Nylander control the play while Kane makes some room in the offensive zone for them.

A trade that I think will not please a lot of people on the forum is trading Kerfoot to Minnesota for Cam Talbot. Yes, he can be shaky at times in front of the net. Yes, he might not be the best option available for the Leafs. But I can't see the Leafs splashing the cash for Jack Campbell, he is not consistent enough to be a #1 goaltender for a give or take $5 millions per year contract. By getting Talbot for one year, you can use him as a "try out" to see if it's works. If so, that's perfect! Re sign him! If not, let him go after the year and go on the trade market next summer to get a guy like Jusse Saros. Nashville have Askarov coming up soon and they would like to make a spot for him. Plus, Saros has team control for the next 2 years. Getting a solid backup like Braden Holtby will stabilize the tandem until the summer.

Adding PK Subban could be a good, cheap signing for Toronto and bring some leadership for the younger guys. He's been in the bright lights of the big hockey markets before and I think Toronto wouldn't scare him on that part. He's not the player that he once was, but with the right role, he can still be a useful player in Toronto.

The Holl trade is only for a cap dump, and they would have to give up a piece to sweet up the deal for Buffalo. Same for the Muzzin trade, cap relief and try to build up on draft picks. *I put those teams for the trades, but it could be anyone really*

Adding a guy like Nick Paul on the 3rd line for important faceoffs and the penalty kill could be a good fit for the bottom-6 and adding Deslauriers on the 4th line can scare off the other teams to bully the Matthews and Marner of the team.

Feel free to comment and put your suggestions on what could be changed!

Don’t like the Kase signing. Until he proves he can play at least 60 games, he is not worth half that.

Sabres don't have a need for either player so I can't see them giving up a second for them.

Pretty sure Kane will go wherever he can get the biggest payday, which will absolutely be more than 3.5×2. Also Paul easily gets more than 3×3. He turned that money down from Ottawa to bet on himself in the playoffs. Somewhere in the Barclay Goodrow range is what he'll be looking for
