Description
Nino deal- I think he is worth about 5x5. Canes give an extra year to bring down the cap a bit

Klingberg deal- Canes were interested last year and I would imagine they still are this year. The rumor that TDA could be moved makes me think something with klingberg could make a lot of sense.

Nylander deal- Nylander seems like exactly the kind of player the canes need up front. Value could be slightly off

That klingberg deal is awful, would rather just re-sign DeAngelo for like 4.25

Rees isn't NHL ready.

I like the idea of Soucy, but not at that price.

That Nylander trade... He's not the perfect fit, but it's less putting a square peg in a round hole than Miller and Fiala so I'd be okay with that.

I agree on both your first 2 points. The klingberg deal is a lot but it’s probably what it would take. I see him being a really good fit with Slavin but that’s my opinion. TDA is going to cost more than 4.25 and I’m not willing to do that with all the question marks.

Rees can be replaced with a ufa on a cheap deal I just didn’t feel like picking one

No thanks to DeAngelo. Canes can continue with that social experiment! Besides, Seattle can offer better than that for Klingberg!

Can and will are far different things. I know Francis spent some money last year but that certainly goes against what was a pretty big sample size in Carolina of inactivity. I’d be pretty surprised to see him throwing out a huge contract to klingberg

You might be right. The big 3 he signed last off-season aren't looking too good thus far! Regardless, I still see him going the UFA route on someone before making the deal above.

Unfortunately, a deal would likely have to start with Jarvis. And I don’t think the Canes do that.
