Fiala idea

Description
Devils probably won't trade #2 pick and Wild probably won't trade Wallstedt...but just for conversation sake, how would this look?

My first instincts are (1) If Devils get Fiala and Wallstedt, MIN probably doesn't need to include their 1st. (2) If Wild are trading Wallstedt, they probably would want Blackwood instead of waiting on Daws (MAF is free agent and Talbot has one-year).

The roster player would probably have to be someone better than boqvist. Or leave him in and take out the minny first

Fiala/Wallstedt for Daws/#2

Sounds reasonable

Minnesota gets robbed here

An 85 point scorer, a potential franchise goaltender and 25th overall is given up for one legitimately valuable piece

If NJ thinks Slafkovsky or Cooley are THAT valuable, they can keep the pick and take them instead

My issue is Craig Button ranked Wallstedt as the 6th best NHL-Affiliated prospect. For perspective, Button also has Holtz at 15th. I just don’t think there is any reason for the Wild to give up Wallstedt for the 2nd overall in this draft when they could potentially get #7 or #13 overall, (which is obviously a drop off but not as big of a drop as other drafts), without giving up their best or second best prospect. I also am apart of the crowd that would rather get 2 or 3 things for Fiala than trade Fiala and then some for #2 overall, so I could also be in the minority of Wild fans on this trade.

Not a chance Minnesota does this. Minnesota isn't trading wallstedt under any circumstances.

No it doesn't for Minnesota. Minnesota literally traded up to select their G of their future. Don't know how you think your pick, boqvist are that valuable. Wallstedt won't be included

Maybe Wild get one great piece or 2-3 good pieces, but many of the ACGMs have been asking for 2-3 great pieces.

Wallstedt likely won’t be considered here, but neither will #2 overall pick (or Holtz or Mercer). Still plenty of pieces left though.
