They really dont have everything they need imo. The best thing they could do is add another two solid young players to the system.

Yeah skip Miller trade. Ride out the young core. Build onto it and become a powerhouse!! (If everyone pans out)

Would be an interesting trade... I think Manson would be a great fit to add some grit on their back end. With Werenski, Bean, and Bodqvist Columbus is gonna need some gritty support guy's.

I think Columbus will be really good for multiple years to come but is going to run into a potentially similar situation as Carolina or the Islanders where they just don't have a high high end superstar player to lead the way. Laine is very good but needs some support players, Johnson is promising but needs some more time.

Now where can they find a superstar? Hard to say.. maybe it's miller... maybe it's Johnson... maybe it's Savoie/Kemmell/Geekie/Nazar or whoever the 6th pick ends up being

A Miller trade with CBJ would need to start with Boqvist probably.

*IF* they pan out. Every team that wants to win needs a legit 1C. CBJ can wait 3-4 year to see IF Johnson becomes that guy, but since most scouts see him as a wing, and he’s played wing the last two years, he’s probably going to be a wing.

That Miller extension is frightening. 9.2 for 7 yrs is ridiculous.

Imo, that's why they draft 2 players with center potential in this draft if they can't get Jiricek at 6. Between Roslovic, Johnson, Sillinger, 6 and 12 you hope you find your 1 and 2C.

Very true but a strong top line winger plus whoever we get in this draft should be a solid base to build that team on.

They are all middle 6 centers on a championship team IMO. Miller is a dawg.

They already have a solid base, many good players all through the roster. All they need is a real 1C and a physically imposing RHD that can play the top pair. Maybe Peeke or Blankenburg are that guy. This year will tell for sure and I think they deserve a shot to push for it. The centers are all good, but none are real 1Cs that can lead a team to a cup. Maybe a first or second round exit, but not a cup.

Lol, how do you say that about two 19 year olds and two players that haven't even been drafted yet? Most players don't even come close to showing their full potential until ~5 years after they're drafted. Sillinger's 18 year old season alone was comparable to a lot of very solid 1C players from the recent past so that should absolutely be considered his ceiling however likely or unlikely.

Problem with Boqvist is that he isnt physical enough and the Canucks need that more anything right now, or they would have taken Lundquist from the Rangers.

But I believe they need a RHD high level puck mover for the 2nd/3rd pair
