I feel like your value for Nylander is correct. The problem is the Sabres won't be ready to make a run until after he becomes a UFA. This deal is probably 2 or 3 years early for the Sabres.

Nylander is worth a lot more than a mid-first rounder

Nylander is worth way more than a 1st. Kerfoot is not a first line forward. And Campbell is not worth 5 million.

I like the Nichushkin signing, though.

Thank you for not proposing Mrazek to Buffalo. Love the Nylander trade but like Greysuits points out, it's a bit early to pull the trigger on something like that.

The first GK Sabre fans loved and could sign with Buffalo as UFA.
The second GK Sabre fans hate and could be traded to Buffalo with the equivalent of a 39th OA 2022 draft pick.
Maybe Buffalo would only need to offer the last 2nd from 2023.
I recommend getting the second GK and having four first round picks this year!
