▐▐▐▐▐ ***** Every "Smart" Pittsburgh Penguins Fans [2022 ~ Off-Season] Plan *****▐▐▐▐▐

1) -▬ MUST Re-Sign - Letang / Geno / Rakell ↔↔ These are still all Elite Top Players ▲▲ Ricky Rickardo Rakell looked scary good here.

2) ▬ Get a "Real" Back-Up Goalie →(OR)← 1B younger type Back-Up Goalie

3) ▬ Trade Target = Only 22yr - 25yr old Players ►THIS TEAM MUST GET YOUNGER◄

4) ▬ Target 6'-2" or Bigger / Tougher / Thicker / Faster type Forwards ↔↔↔↔ This team is Softer than Hot butter on a 100 degree day & is No longer a Top 15 Fast Team.

5) ▬ Don't be fooled by a 28yr old E-Rod that had a 35 game stretch "Career season." He is what he is, a great #13 to 4th liner = Don't be that Gullible Dumb GM that signs him to more than $1.25m per.

6) ▬ Since we are always in Top 5 of "MGL" == Add as many 25-26yr old Depth {UFA's} or {RFA's} (that don't get tendered) as possible @ Forward, D-man, & Goalie.

7) ▬ Remember our #13 & #14 Forwards usually play in 75% of games w/ all our Constant Injuries.

Ottawa and Anaheim are surefire declines cause there isn't enough value going back to Anaheim to get ride of 4 propects that you said yourself have pretty good upside and Formenton is far more usefull to Ottawa than Heinen is. Especially because if Ottawa wanted Heinen they could have gotten him in free agency last offseason.

Overall really well though out but those Ottawa and Anaheim trades need work.

Formenton value isn’t unreasonable on a surface level, but it just doesn’t really make sense for the Sens. they’ve been working on Formenton’s development for years now and he’s turning into a legit two-way threat who’s good on the PK. his next deal won’t be expensive, but the Sens aren’t interested in moving him unless it’s in a deal that blows their socks off, and this just isn’t that.
again, value from an outside perspective is reasonable, but the Sens just don’t do this

Formenton is an AUTO decline if Guentzel is not coming the other way

Forms could be part of the package to get Jake but even then I doubt it, they will dangle the 7th OA pick and several other valuable pieces instead

The only other players of interest for Forms would be Crosby, Rust and Marino (maybe Dumoulin but Forms wouldn't be involved)

Again, I don't think people have any idea of Formenton's value. He led the league in short handed goals as a 22 y/o rookie. All of his goals (18) and points (32) were at ES or PK

He might be the 2nd best skater in the world. He is easily worth a top-15 pick to Ottawa, maybe as high as Top-10 as some people told me (including a part time scout)

The offer is not truly terrible because Heinen is decent and Hallander is also a good prospect but this is an easy decline for Ottawa

yes haha but that statement on its own is still so outrageous. I think you are overrating formenton regardless he's a great player but cmon do you think anaheim would trade 10 OA for alex formenton?

Yes but it's ridiculous to judge a statement "on its own" without the whole context/sentence... I mean, there could be a million examples where it becomes non-sensical or outrageous if you remove a part of the sentence.

Guentzel is absolutely the type of player the Sens need. IF the Pens were rebuilding, then he should be a target and if the Pens specifically targeted Formenton among all the other pieces, then he could be included in the package. The 7th OA pick would also be in that package

And for the record, I wouldn't trade Formenton for the 10th pick in this draft

I wouldn't be the only one

You wouldn’t be the only one not to do that trade but everyone else standing with you would also be sens fans

Nah, there's also hockey people, not just fans. Some people understand the kind of trajectory Formenton is on

Hockey is a LOT more than hockeydb, which you seem to be doing a lot

For the record, I don't care that much about what fans say in general. I listen I am curious but I am more interested by people in the know. And I have access to a lot of that

This draft is not good enough for me to gamble on finding a player at least as good with the 10th OA pick. I take the semi-certainty over the magic beans here.

Seems like a very poor return for Anaheim, plus why would we want to get older when we are rebuilding/deal solid young pieces?
