Drop Stankoven and add Dellandrea and I’d be interested. Johnston and Stankoven are no gos

The Vegas deal is super lopsided. Roy, Martinez even brossoit all have value especially Roy they won't just give him away.

I think it would have to be Stankoven or Bourque, I think they are better than Dellandrea but not entirely sure. Considering those 3 will be nhl regulars in the next year or two, losing one wouldn't hurt as much. I would maybe look at swapping Doby for Faksa if it kept Stankoven.

I doubt it. A second seems pretty fair considering Detroit is one of the few teams that can take Petry without retention. Better defensemen have been traded recently for a pair of seconds or a second and a third and they’ve all been younger and cheaper

2 x 2nds. seems to be a common price for top 4 d.

Yeah I wasn't sure about that. Even after moving Dadonov they are still in a cap crunch. I'm buying low on Martinez in hopes that they would be handcuffed to move him to one of his 15 teams he doesn't have on his list. Brossoit is alright but there could be cheaper back up options for other teams, his value is all that much. They are going to have some trouble signing everyone.

Yeah but he can only be traded to 16 teams and only a few of those teams would be interested in acquiring him with his age, cap hit and mixed season. A second is good value.

I wouldn’t trade one of our top prospects for a second pair D. Period. Even if you took Dobby and Faksa. I’m not sure I’d give up the two second round picks for him either. Stankoven won’t be NHL ready this year and he won’t be a center at the NHL level. If you’re looking for a 2C Bourque is the better fit and even then I’m not sure Hronek is good enough to consider that. Bourque isn’t a sure thing to be in the NHL this year either. I’d rather take a gamble on Nutivaara’s health and give him a one year deal and tell all these “Dallas needs somebody to replace Klinger so they should absolutely over pay for (insert mediocre defenseman)” people to go pound sand

If you think a 34 year old Petry is worth as much as a 27 year old Toews you’re nuts

laugh An aging declining RD making $6,250,000 x 3 years, As far as we're concerned a 2nd is too much for Petry.

And Leddy only had one season too, We're not even giving up a 2nd for Petry. Leddy was a LD that we desperately needed. RD isn't a position of need big difference there.

Not how it works, Leddy was coming off a 32 point season with the Islanders, And Detroit had a void at LD that Leddy filled. Detroit has no voids at RD and Hronek 4 years in is far better than Jeff Petry was 4 year in it took Petry 9 years to reach 40 points Hronek nearly did it 4 years in.

so petry takes hroneks spot, end of story. or hronek moves to his left.

We don't need Petry period, We're getting younger not older. Let Dallas or whoever have Petry he's not worth what he's getting paid.

Yes but since Leddy was in the final season of his contract we were able to flip him at the TDL and Detroit got a 2nd, Sundqvist and Walman.

Aging, yes. As is every player for that matter. But In your own words, I would love to hear how he's declining.
