I would say just simplify the whole thing and trade Olofsson and 28OA for Fiala.

MN still says no. Just like they say no to the OPs trade.

Olofsson is going to cost more than $3m/yr. The cap simply doesn't work for him to be part of a Fiala trade. He's just is not a positive value asset for MN.

why wouldn't they want Olofsson though? he's shown he can be a productive offensive player given the minutes and playing with good players, they get 3 draft picks and a replacement for a guy they clearly can't resign.

They don’t need a replacement. Rossi is most likely going to fill in for Fiala. Well, Rossi at center and then Gaudreau slides to right wing.

Left handed wingers are the last thing Minnesota needs:

Boldy and Zuccarello both play RW and I think Gaudreau is definitely better at Center, and I don't think Rossi is ready to fill that role just yet, but if Olofsson played with guys like Eriksson and Boldy he has a 50-point season MINIMUM.

We. Do. Not. Want. Olofsson.

Boldy definitely plays left wing and Rossi definitely will be in the show this year. There is zero chance that if Fiala is traded to Buffalo that Olofsson is the main piece coming back.
