I'm perfectly fine with packaging 2 2nds and a prospect because they have multiple picks this year. But too often teams push too soon and they end up underperforming or see sawing year after year. Maybe a Giroux fits into that, I'd be shocked but it would be cool and checks a lot of boxes. Then they can continue to build and have a factory of good players coming through the system... That's the dream right there haha
They need a top-6 Winger. They need to stop relying 100% on drafting

Not sure if you saw the trade, but it's Asplund for Mete and a third. Not just a third round pick
Mete has no value. Sens are letting him walk as a RFA. They're not qualifying him

You can have fun at the bottom of your division for the next decade if you don't start trading draft picks because the Senators are the worst drafting team in the league. Sanderson over Drysdale, Tyler Boucher...just have fun at the bottom of your division
Uh one of the most RIDICULOUS comment I have seen on hockey forums in the last 20 years, all sites combined... You just have no idea what you are talking about
Ottawa has been one of the very best drafting teams in the NHL since 2008
Do you want a list of all the players they have found outside of the Top-10? Karlsson, Batherson, Stone, Silfverberg, Lehner, Pageau, Chabot, Hoffman, etc. The list is very long
Based on this comment and this ACGM, you actually seem to know very little about this team (or hockey in general)
Drafting is actually the ONLY thing they are good at and well above average. I can't even imagine how bad things were if they were not good at drafting.
Boucher was not well received pick, you're right but we also complained about every other pick and it looks like their 2nd round pick Zack Ostapchuk could pay off big time. He just had a coming out party in the WHL playoffs as an 18 years old, with 23 points in 12 games
I wanted Drysdale initially but now I really don't mind the Sanderson pick. He's seen as a top-3 prospect in the world by pretty much everybody. You clearly haven't seen him play in the NCAA or WJC. He's going to be a beast
