Lou would probably do that, Dillon seems like his kind of D-Man.

Didn’t Dillon have the worst metrics of any Jets defenseman last season? It was him or Stanley.

Personally I wouldn’t trade a bag of blue pucks for Dillon, but I can’t fault your logic.

I don't think it would take a 1st to get the rights to Strome; more likely a 2nd to secure his rights, but you absolutely do not want him to play wing. He's a top 6 center but after a couple longer trials at wing he was not very good.

Dillon is not my ideal 2 LD, but he is the exact type of player Lou would go for.

If after all the nonsense that took place surrounding jp if Holland moves him now for that type of return he should be fired. Better off to sign and keep.

I got shredded for an ACGM where I suggested they move to Stanley. Now I’m not trying to defend that proposal, but at least he isn’t overpaid like Dillon is.

Should’ve been fired after the Keith trade, the Barrie signing and the Ceci signing. Not to mention the Nurse extension which is a tremendous overpay.

I would take a chance on Stanely to rotate on the 3rd pair if Salo struggles. Sometimes (i.e. Chara) it take players of that height more time to develop.

Nurse extension was rushed but I have no issues with everything else. Barrie led all d in points and earned the extension which is well bellow what market value should have gotten him on open market. Without him good chance wouldn't have gotten to round two this year. Scored game winner in game 6 first round late in game. Keith was solid did exactly what was asked of him ya the cap hit is fairly high but didn't give up too much a pick and Jones who last I checked wasn't exactly taking big leaps since the trade. Ceci was our best pure defender basically since signing turned out excellent. He also brought in Hyman and resigned nuge to less than he was making for long term. Holland done just fine he's bets have paid off

And if Keith retires... Chicago is on the hook for the cap hit.

Exactly why they didn't retain on the deal last year they took the bigger risk.

No thanks to the Strome deal.. paying too much. We could likely get him or someone else cheaper… Beauvillier might be a cap casualty in NYI if CHI won’t take less for Strome.
I could be ok with the Puljujarvi deal, though it’s a bit high… he’s likely to be a cap casualty in EDM and his production died off as the season progressed… I’d be more comfortable with just the 2nd.
I’d rather move Heinola for Lundkvist, and keep Dillon to partner with him. Schmidt can go to DET for a 3rd to make room.

Hope is he turns into the next Oleksiak lol. I think he could play next to dobby, but that’s based solely on the eye test lol.

I don’t love using the term cap casualty for young and productive players lol. Beau stays out unless Lou can get an elite lefty d man, elite winger or Lou has a major **** up. My money is on the third one.

Cap casualty is someone moved due to the cap constraints of the team as a whole… it’s not the same as a cap dump who is moved because he’s not worth his cap value.
Beau is worth his value, but the team needs to prioritize spending in other areas
