Kings RD depth: Doughty, Roy, Walker, Clarke, Faber, Durzi, Spence, Grans.

We need a left-shot defenseman to pair with special teams skills on 2LD with Roy (as RD2). Also, wasn't Murphy struggling at shutting players down last season?

This trade makes no sense from a King's perspective.

Murphy was struggling as a result of his partners he was playing with along with the entire team struggling. This last year was much less Murphy struggling then the situations he was put in with a bad team.

Take Holtz or #2 out.
Can’t see Devils trading both for DeBrincat.

Rumor is, it will take Holtz + the #2 and nothing more or less. The two teams are actively talking supposedly.

I think he could be fine, but his value is not really peak after last season and his concussion history.

We aren't the right team, but for assessing value I also think you will be selling low on him if you do trade him this off season, and Vilardi + 2nd type return doesn't seem likely for a player who the majority of the remainder of his contract will be in his 30s.

It's a bad trade to LA, but Murphy is still worth a 1st plus maybe a decent prospect and 3rd. I bet the Hawks wait until the deadline and then try to move him. RHD at the deadline carry a premium these days. He's had a couple concussions due to the way he plays a nasty game; very physical and gets under the skin of opponents.

I could see it, he could be the perfect fit for another team. And I agree he probably will look much better when your new coach arrives to boost his value enough at the trade deadline, I'll be curious to see what happens with him and some of your wingers. Could be a fast turnaround back to competition.

I think it's going to be a pretty slow turnaround unfortunately. Stan Bowman destroyed our chances at a fast turn around over the last few years. Could have done an epic retool between 2018 through 2020 for a few years and been competing at the top; however he was trying to keep his job and kept bringing in veterans of various levels and trading young players.

Hang in there dude, retools suck, and waiting on prospects is infuriating. That being said, would love to see us the Blackhawks and Kings playing perfect overtime hockey once again.
