Holtby is washed but I guess he would be good because of the defensive depth,

DeAngelo is an RFA, how would he leave? Besides, Canes don’t want nor need Barrie, since DeAngelo is going to be resigned.

They need a tandem goalie to work with Skinner (assuming reports of Smith LTIR are true), Holtby is my choice I thought he played well in Dallas after a terrible stint in Van.
I don't love the UFA market Keumper will be too pricey, MAF isn't signing in EDM, Campbell is not reliable and Husso is way too risky imo.

RFA does not mean a player will be back, the contract ask for Deangelo isn't going to be anywhere near the $1M deal he was just on.
If they cannot come to terms after arbitration then he becomes a UFA

Yeah idk it's pretty bad for goalies this year, they would have to trade for somebody

You are also assuming it even makes it to arbitration. There is a mutual interest between both parties to get a deal done, so it is highly unlikely it even comes close to arbitration.

Foegele has decent stats for a guy getting under 13 minutes per game and Tullio, who I believe with be a top 6 player, won't be NHL ready for another 3 seasons.
This isn't a horrible offer for Connor Brown but Ottawa will have at least two or three better ones coming in.
RWellington and zizougaffar liked this.

The point of a hypothetical situation is you get to decide the outcomes, in this hypothetical he doesn't resign in CAR.

Yes, you get to decide the outcomes, but there should at least be a measure of realism in the hypothetical equation. If there was, that entire trade wouldn’t be made. But I digress.
