Slow and Steady

Created by: TagesMissedShots
Team: 2022-23 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 20, 2022
Published: Jun. 20, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The Sabres should learn from past mistakes and continue to build this team through drafting and development.

Bishop and Klefbom are in, so that the site recognizes their hit to the cap. I know both don't play any more.

Pekar loaned to Czech League

EDM Trade 1: Bjork is a good depth piece, but has no real room on the Sabres. Can be used as a good scratch or bottom 6 forward for EDM

San Jose Trade: Unsure on value, but Chmeleski gives the Sabres a little physicality while still being able to produce a little offensively. I choose him over resigning Hayden. Again, I don't know if San Jose is big on him or if he is worth a lot more than that, I just estimated.

NSH Trade: It was suggested to me that Nashville was a good destination for Olofsson. Fabbro analytically speaking is very close to Olofsson. Nashville gets a good scorer, Sabres get a good D-Man. Again, as I am not a Preds fan, nor avid Preds watcher, if Fabbro is worth more, then I will fully admit my mistake

EDM Trade 2: Klefbom's career is over, the Sabres need to reach the floor.

Fabbro plays on NSH top pair, doesnt make much sense to trade him for a guy like olofsson.

Bjork is probably a buyout candidate since the cost would only be 100k.

I would have to think that Nazar will be gone by 16 and McGroarty gone by 28. They would be steals at that point.

I was basing it off of BR's latest mock draft, in which both were available at both spots

Sharks decline. Chmelevski finally made that jump to the NHL This past season and was trusted with PK time. Sharks wouldn’t move him atm and rather see how he continues developing.
