Vancouver Canucks signed Andrei Kuzmenko (1 Year / $1,800,000 AAV)

Was this a good signing?

Shocked he chose Vancouver with the options he had available.

Or maybe next Gusev/Shipachyov. Good thing it's just a 1 year prove me deal and if it pans out good than look at resigning him but I personally on the fence. Time will only tell. Could be 1 and done back to the KHL. Honestly with what is going on in the world I wouldn't bring in any Russians from the KHL at this time.

Dickinson and Pearson might get moved, so there should be a spot for Hoglander unless he spends some time in the minors

Dickinson only played 62 games due to injuries last year. I think he might be hard to move, but I also don't think he's going to make the line-up this season based on those concerns.

Oh 100%, I think most of us are largely on the fence about how well he pans out. Again, the main source of praise is that this is a risk free bet, I know that sounds like an oxymoron but you know what I mean

person is gone imo

I predict Miller is most likely gone tbh, maybe Pearson as well, as we already know he's not a Rutherford-type winger, hence having been traded by JR once already

It annoys me when the Canucks make good moves.

I suspect Oilers fans will have a normal one with this and not name him public enemy number one next season...

Who voted no lol

Theres no downside here and Kuzmenko could end up being a very high quality player

Can someone explain why so many people are doubtful he'll translate his point production to the NHL? Panarin and Kaprizov had similar production in the KHL to Kuzmenko and became instant point per game players in the NHL. The only difference I can see is he's a few years older to be entering the NHL than those two.

doubt is normal, and the difference you mentioned about age is exactly why you should be dountful. if all the khl point leader would be super star in the nhl then they would just come over. you have to do it quite young to show you have the potential to become a star in the nhl.

He's mostly a "Meh" defensive player and has nearly no offensive upside. He's not even a good face off man.

Dickinson is a natural C though although to be fair we mostly use him as a winger so you are half correct

Pearson > Bear

Bear was getting scratched in the playoffs and arguably isn't worth his qualifying offer

Lousy take, doesn't account for his seasons in Dallas

Canuck fans. You can say move out Dickinson/Pearson all you want. If you don't have anyone to trade them too and can't find another club, you are stuck with them. I have a feeling to move either or retention is going to be required.
