If Detroit signs someone capable of playing in the #2C spot that does make Suter expendable because I think between Suter and Veleno they'd move Suter.

I wanted to add I think Suter is a #3C but was the 2nd best center on Detroit's roster and thats why he was at the #2C spot and I thought he handled it quite well.

I'm impressed this team is above the cap floor with 6 ELC's.
They are going to need all of that cap space in a few years to pay the young studs.

I like Holtby but I think and hope they could find a better backup even if it costs a few million more.

I'm a big Veleno fan but I don't know if he's ready for full time 2C. That said your title is "youth impress at camp"

I like the Forsberg signing but I don't like taking Bert off 1st line because of his chemistry with Larkin & Raymond.

I understand the D have 2 ELC's but in total those six D make 11.65 total. Some teams (Looking at you SJ with Karlsson) pay a guy that much per year.
Money isn't everything but it shows this D core is very unexperienced or not as talented.

I actually thought Forsberg could play C? There could be a solution right there if the Wings think he can transition.
