Description
2OA- Logan Cooley
detroit move up in the draft so they can acquire their 1/2C for the future, i actually think larkin and cooley have very similar playstyles and will be a very very good 1-2 punch for the future.

Not that I think Sergachev is bad but he really has not looked good this season. He was definitely a key on the last two cup runs and maybe hes run out of gas but hes been one of Tampa's most noticeable bad dmen this year

Not enough to move up 6 spots, only way they move down is if they can get Nemec, Jiricek or Cutter and all of them will be gone by then

i really like that detroit and ndj trade. i assume an extension would have to be in place for bertuzzi.

Devils are literally better off in making the pick and getting Forsberg in FA like you propose the wings do to replace Bert..

nemec and jiricek yes will be gone but i don't think Cutter will be.

my projection until 8OA is
Habs1. Wright/Slafkovky
NJ 2.Wright/ Slafkovsky (not taking in trade)
Ari 3. Cooley
Sea 4. Nemec
Philly 5. Savoie ( i feel like they go for a Center rather then dman)
CBJ 6. Jiricek (CBJ needs a future top pairing RHD(Jones repalcement) for Werenski, Boqvist and peeke will be their bottom 4 RHD, they also already have a lot of young forwards with high potential)
Ottawa 7. Lekkerimaki/ Kemell ( ottawa has the future C core in Norris/Stutzle/Pinto so they most likely go for a support wingers, they already have a lot of lefties amd only batherson as a righty for the future)

He's only 23 though the odds he bounces back are very high, he will be a very good number 3 dman for most his career which is all detroit needs they have 2 future number 1 dmen in edvinsson and seider already

i could see detroit be willing to add an additional pick or prospect but Bertuzzi is a very solid forward and brings some grit, physicality and defence to a rather soft top 6.

I don't think those trades are that great for Detroit. I'm not that high on Sergachev unlike some people. Wallinder has the potential to be way better than him in my opinion. I don't think trading Bertuzzi would help lure Forsberg here, especially at that dollar amount. Zacha isn't a centre either.

TB doesn't get more play him another year and trade him as a pending RFA next year. Thats selling low on a sub-par playoffs for Sergi

I don't love losing Niederbach in that trade. I think I swap him out for someone else or a pick as I think it's a bit of an overpay as is.

Otherwise, very interesting ideas.

The Devils are better off to just keep their pick and add a couple guys in free agency, they're close, don't rush it now Fitzy.

Both trades are bad for Detroit.

Rebuilding teams don't give up assets like that.

Moving up from guys like lekkerimaki and gauthier to Cooley is good for Detroit they have no guaranteed stud center coming up. Cooley and Larkin would give Detroit and elite 1-2 punch for 8+ years.

Sergachev also fits their timeline and is already a good defencemen.

Considering what I am giving up the other teams are taking a bigger risk the Detroit
