The Copp deal is kind light (probably give a tad less to some of the RFA’s). Overall I like it a lot. Great job.

I’m gonna yell at you for the Rangers’ fans, before the Rangers’ fans come in here and yell at you for giving a combined $14m AAV to Chytil & Lafreniere.

Chytil shouldn’t get a $1 more than $3.5m (if that) he’s probably worth less than $2.5m.

Alexis shouldn’t get more than $5m on a two or three year bridge deal, and that’s being awfully generous. He probably will get a two year deal worth $4.5m annually. If they want to work out something long term, I think a good long term number would be around $6m however, he’d be dumb to sign a long term deal at that number and the Rangers would be equally dumb to give him more than that. He’s flashed some big potential with some moderate results but that’s it.

Andrew Copp isn't taking anything less than $5,500,000 x 7 years if not slightly more.

Detroit passes, We're not moving William Wallinder that kid is really looking good here as of late.

An experienced, talented, 2 way dman with RS. That contract has hurt his rep a lot, but he's a really solid top 4 defenseman, and someone who could play a key role in a playoff run for Detroit.

Detroit needs LD not RD. That, coupled with his age and contract makes this an easy no from Yzerman.

I keep seeing Trouba to Detroit in these ACGM's. I understand that it feels like an easy out on Trouba's NMC for NYR fans, but it's just not a good fit due to age, contract, and no need for a T4 RHD.

Detroit has more LD prospects than it knows what to do with, that doesn't even include Walman and Juolevi, on RD you have no prospects and your 4th option is Steven Kampfer, tell me having Seider, Trouba, and Lindstrom/Hronek wouldn't give Detroit one of the best d-cores in the league.

The defense would basically look like this:

Edvinsson - Seider
Johansson - Trouba
Walman - Hronek
Lindström

Yzerman isn't going to run with two rookies who have never played on NHL ice before.

Detroit fans keep talking about how you already have your RD locked down, but it's not good. Seider is the only good RD in your team. Hronek is inconsistent, Lindström is promising but not a good top 4 option, and you don't have a single good prospect outside of that. the RD is a priority, I don't see how wings fans don't realize this.

Because RD is a relative strength to the roster, and the team is still several years and pieces out of a playoff spot. Trouba does not make the Wings a playoff team, so why overpay for him now?
Lindstrom probably is a 3rd pairing guy going forward, and Hronek has been deployed in a system he's not suited for under Blashill, so he may improve under a new coach.

Dude this is 2024-25... Edvinsson and Johansson will probably join the team this year, so they'll have done two season by the season this acgm was made for.

Also, your tweet is kind of a catch 22, if no teams play players who don't already have NHL experience, how will players get NHL experience? It's like how people need work experience to find a job, but they need to find a job to get work experience.

Hronek and Lindstrom are adequate, but adequate does not win cups. You don't have a great RD in your system, Trouba would fill that slot behind Seider, and with 2M retained, he's affordable too. Given how he's currently playing, you won't find many right handed dmen of his caliber for 6M on the market, and you're not gonna find someone like him in the coming drafts, since even if you get high picks, you're not gonna use them on RD's
