I kinda like the general look of it but 1) signing Kadri for that amount is going to age badly IMO 2) I would rather keep a well established shutdown RHD in DeMelo than get a 2nd round pick 3) Pionk > Dumba to me, but I understand that you had to cut someone loose for the general thing 4) I can't really see OTT aiming for Schmidt 5) And I can't see MIN aiming for Wheeler 6) I'm not very sold on Pulju, he already had that top deployment (with McD as well) and proved that he is a 3rd liner to me.. Overally a very interesting take

This is an absolute no from wild . They aren't trading dumba to take on wheeler and his contract. Doesn't matter that you are retaining. Minnesota doesn't need a mid 30's player with injuries and aging bad contract

Hard pass on Dumba and a 2nd for Wheeler. I don't care if there is money retained, he's still got 2 years at a cap hit he's still not worth here. To give up a top 4 defenseman and a top 50 pick for Wheeler, in any capacity is terrible

And before someone brings up Wheeler hitting 60 points, he only hit half that total at 5v5 and has one of the worst defensive impacts in the league. On top of all that, there seems to be a case for him being a toxic leader.

No one should have any interest in Wheeler, especially if that's his price

No chance at Buffalo moving Dahlin, and especially not with Scheifele as the center piece.

Minnesota isn't doing that and the Edmonton and Pittsburgh trades are horrible for the Jets.

Paul Fenton isn't Minnesota gm. So no, not a chance Guerin does thus

This can be said for every team ever tho. And what has been Bill Guerin's worst move thus far? Staal for Mojo was heavily criticized but ended up being pretty even. Fleury was a loss of a 2nd rounder in which he got 2 back, D-Lo was a loss of a 3rd.

I'm not saying these were good moves or that I even liked them at the time, but having your worst moves only cost you a later 2nd & 3rd when you know you're getting more than that value back isn't bad business.

My number one critique of Billy G's tenure would be not extending Fiala last offseason
