Hughes said the exact same thing about Lehkonen and Kulak at the deadline. At the end of the day he’s an agent, he’ll say anything and use every opportunity available to him to drive his guy’s price up to get better value for him.

He’s done a good job! But Anderson isn’t exactly a bargain. If a team overpays for Anderson that’s on them. This deal isn’t good for Montreal, but I don’t think it’s reasonable to propose trading him for the 2nd pick either.

I legit did that cause u were right lol. They have been calling, but that doesn’t make Anderson worth what u claim.

Where exactly in our conversation did I list Anderson's value? I simply said that the Habs weren't desperate for cap space so they won't move him at a loss for cap space they can create in other moves.

Danault plays Center and wins an insane # of faceoffs. Lehkonen played in a more reduced roll than Anderson if I’m not mistaken.

Feels like ur just using Lehkonen as an excuse to justify an incredible overpayment for Anderson. Can’t compare the two imo.

Why can’t I? You brought up Anderson’s point total as a way to justify that he’s not worth more than an overpaid center who hasn’t shown anything in this league and a defencemen who was put on waivers. If you’re going to introduce to this argument other features that players bring, aside from point totals, then allow me to point out that Anderson’s combination of size and speed are highly sought after by gms in the league. If you feel like taking an hour or so, which I highly doubt you do cause you’ve probably got more important things going on in your life, watch the Hab-Vegas series. In that series Anderson scores two huge goals (one courtesy of MAF) and scares Alex pietraneglo so much he’s afraid to go into a corner with him. I’m not advocating for Anderson to get a second overall pick like many idiots on this site are doing, I’m saying Anderson should be able to fetch a Lehkonen-esque return (mid round pick and good prospect) and not another team’s garbage.
Lehkonen played with danault and Gallagher throughout the majority of the playoffs. And was the trade really an overpay? Look at how he’s doing in Colorado now.

Oh absolutely not. If you don’t feel like reading my long paragraph comment above I said I think his value’s right around what Lehkonen fetched, and I think given how teams are so gung-ho about size and speed someone ponies up and offers it (I’m looking at you Ken Holland).

Anderson has value. Just not sure you can capitalize on it and turn him into a first. Maybe packaged with Dvorak? Idk.

If guys like Ben Chiarot and Rasmus Ristolainen can get firsts, I think Anderson has a good chance to as well. We’ll see though. In the end I don’t think he gets traded, but we’ll see.

Anderson isn’t worth a first or a higher end prospect….

I didn't say he was lol I said MTL will only be trading him for an offer they can refuse which that would be it. Chiarot kind of trade or else he will just keep him.
