Not enough heading to NJ. Anderson holds little to no value in this scenario.

I would definitely not make that trade. Guhle will be a top 4 for a decade. Yes Slafkovsky will be a good player but I wouldn’t move a definite top 4 for a top 6, then add a power forward and another 1st round pick.

Guhle is a good prospect, but Anderson had 6 points during Montreal’s cup run. Not sure why Habs fans think he’s worth so much tbh.

Berniers, Byfield, Kakko, Svechnikov, Patrick, Laine, Eichel, Reinhart, Barkov, Murray, Landeskog, Seguin, Hedman, Doughty, JVR

How many of these guys wound up not exceeding the proposed trade value here.

Patrick and Murray maybe?

I guess that you're too young to remember, but Eichel, Doughty and Hedman all were touted that highly.

What? Yeah I'm aware they were all super hyped up. My point is that in the last 15 years, there were only two players where this trade proposal is fair value, jury out on Kakko, Byfield, and Bernie's but I imagine they all exceed this trade value as well.

E: fixed the wording.

MTL doesnt have the assets to do a trade for 2oa, but on a 3-way trade, maybe, are there other gms that would be willing to do so? prob not.

If you watch him play nightly you would understand.. If he finds his scoring touch he has the potential to score 30-40 goals

Yeah. But we are talking about a veteran winger with an extensive injury history.

The only three team that for the 2OA that i've seen make any sense doesnt end with montreal getting that pick

Columbus gets the 2OA in the scenario
Habs gets the 12th
Devils get the 6th and Anderson.

And theres a few other smaller pieces mixed in there, but theres no path i can see where the habs would make an offer that the Devils would even consider.

No he has had the one major injury before coming to Montreal last two seasons he has only missed a total of like 15 games .

I don't think that's enough for the 2OA...NJD are in the driver's seat here with that pick and they would want a crazy haul for it which in my opinion they would ask for Caufield in the trade and MTL just won't do that. They're very high on Guhle as well so I don't see them trading their best D prospect In a package for a Winger. Anderson doesn't hold the vaule on here some people are doing but he also isn't a cap dump like other people are saying lol he's a big and fast power forward who creates a lot of space for his linemates, he still had over 40pts and 19G on the worst team in the NHL while missing some games so his style of play and what he can bring is definitely going to get teams to come after him, yes he has his bad qualities too like not being great on D etc but at the end of the day he is a Big and fast power forward and those are rare in the NHL...put him on a contending team on a line with higher end more experienced players and he's going to thrive there I'm sure.

This is what so many fans are missing. In 2011 I coached at the junior level. Our GM wanted to trade a similar player to Anderson. I said don’t you dare. When he’s in my line up my skill players play bigger and have more room. When Patrick maroon was mouthing off, Anderson stood up to him and got in his face. Habs have 3 bigs up front. Armia doesn’t have that meanness in him. Down to 2. Pezzetta is a 4th line player that was in his 1st year. That leaves Anderson, that still finished the year with 19 goals. Yes the goon era is gone, but having coached for 23 years, you still need 1 to 3 guys that can handle themselves and be a presence on the ice. So I wouldn’t trade Anderson. Look how many teams are calling for him. He’s a wanted commodity.

You forgot to include caufield in this trade.... You can't get 2nd overall with a cap dump, a decent prospect, and a significantly later 1st round pick. Cute try though
