IMO Oilers dont want another long term bad contract. We already got that in probably Hyman.

He's not going to waive to go to Edmonton anyways. 8 team no trade lists almost always have every Canadian team especially Edmonton and Winnipeg. He's pretty happy in Montreal.

Any trade Edmonton makes, they overpay, this would be fair considering the asks atm

Seravalli has him as a "godfather" type return. Whatever that means. The implication being it's more than you think. Lebrun said more or less the same, that Mtl doesnt want to move him but teams are calling, many teams

This is exactly the same trajectory as Chiarot. One month calling him a cap dump, the next comes acceptance that he's a positve asset on the market then the following little while comes reality that it's a package you couldnt imagine

27 goals regular season and 11 goals in 16 games in playoffs. Every NHL in the league takes that, but you on capfriendly???

Your statement has two meanings. Yes I agree they (oilers) for cap reasons can’t add another long term contract. I agree with that part. It’s your second part that Hyman is implied to be a bad contract. At 27 reg goals & 11 playoff goals that part would be inaccurate as every GM would want that and not view it as a bad contract.

Ah, I meant, I like him a lot, my wife’s a Habs fan and I think he’s good, but I think that contract is going to be a huge anchor or any trade.

Players like him usually fall fast and hard around the age of 30

That is why I said "Probably"
It will probably be a problem long term for Oilers by the way he plays. Once again we dont need more of them as that gives us major cap problems with our future signings.
You should also keep Anderson to play with Wright. Anderson can offer protection and goal scoring. He is what Lucic should have been for the Oilers.
