Could see this being a cap dump scenario where Calgary pays Detroit to take him, but to find a middle ground on CF, Detroit gives a mid round pick.

Trocheck also grew up in Detroit.

He only spent 3 years in Detroit, I wouldn't call that "growing up there"

Anything hip, back, or knee is broken until otherwise displayed to regain form. As for why those UFAs may sign in Detroit, they grew up here and Detroit has the resources available and tracking well under Yzerman.

Ok sure but Calgary will LTIR him if he's not healthy. Sp you have to assume he's healthy in any trade involving him

Healthy doesn’t always equate to same condition prior. I can have an injury and become healthy but still not perform to the prior level. Happens all the time in sports especially with athletes still in their prime earning years.

Ok but it's a really safe bet that he will be better than the last 2 years since he will be healthy

It’s a bet, I wouldn’t say really safe. Again, anything hip, back, or knee is going to cause issues. He played injured so LTIR is a possibility not certainty nor does Detroit need to take a 6M gamble when you can acquire someone with much less risk for comparable cash/AAV. He only has value as a 2C on Detroit for my prior reasons.
