Chicago doesn't take Mrzarek for THAT. Seattle doesn't give two picks for Kerfoot. Steeves played LW as Marlie, not centre

Let's pretend Seattle doesn't make Kerfoot's 10-team no trade that kicks in next week . . . . . . OK, now, with all the possibilities that might be available to the Kraken given their abundance of draft picks and cap space, why would they use their second highest pick in this draft, AND a 3rd next season, to acquire AK?

Exactly. Now I like Kerfoot, but there seems to be thought on CapFriendly that the teams with cap...almost exclusively non playoff teams, are willing to give up good assets for to allow cap strapped teams to fill out their roster under the cap,.

Solid player. Definitely worth a 2nd and another mid round pick. 3rd may be a little too much but if it’s not Seattle paying that price, someone will. A versatile player who can play C or W puts up 50+ points, kills penalties. I for one like Kerfoot just seems to be a lot of rumours about him being moved. And considering Seattle would’ve taken him from the leafs if they didn’t make that McCann deal with pits thought it made some sense.

Sure. Toronto may get a 2nd (+) for him. But won't be from Seattle, IMO . . . certainly not for 35th OA. The fact Seattle would have taken him for free (over Dermott !?) if McCann hadn't been acquired, does not for a strong argument make!

I have no argument that Kerfoot has value, but Kraken value their opportunities to build this organization through the draft more, and with ample cap space they can be creative in improving their current roster without using picks. I strongly believe Seattle will trade picks in only 3 ways: 1) to move up in the draft 2) to acquire near NHL ready prospects to build their farm system and 3) to acquire a substantial roster piece that moves the needle in a big way. (last one is a big long-shot!) Kerfoot, Holl, Mrazek . . . Barrie, Myers, Pearson . . . and on and on an on --- these are not the players Francis has accumulated picks and saved cap space for, IMO.

No, I think Kerfoot is useful and well worth his 3.5m cap hit. But he isn't worth to Seattle as they will finish out of the playoffs even with him, and now you expect them to give two picks too. Ain't happening
