Garland is on a reasonable contract that has term while being in his prime. Even if he was a 2023 UFA he could fetch a 1st round pick especially if he's point production is similar to what he currently produces. Nils Lundqvist is expendable because the Rangers already have Fox, Trouba, and Schneider on RD.
