Description
DeBoer obviously isn't the most exciting hire, but he loves his blue liners that can put pucks on net from the point. This is much more conducive to Klingberg's style of play that Bowness having his defensemen constantly dump pucks in behind the net.

Am I saying that alone will be enough to keep him in Dallas? Maybe, but I DO think that Klingberg will test the open market. I think that once he realizes he's not going to get the 7-year, $56M contract that he wants from another team that he'll lower his price a little bit and price himself back into potential range for Dallas both in terms of money and contract length.

Rangers decline. But it’s interesting if you swap Dellandrea for Bourque.

Swap Lundkvist for Schneider and that's a conversation that can be had

https://www.tsn.ca/owen-power-top-nhl-prospects-1.1784400

**Both these lists are from Button, which doesn't include players that wouldn't be considered rookies next year (played 10+ nhl games). Because of this, Lundkvist (and Schneider) don't appear on this years list. **

The player I would look at on both these lists is Heinola. Last year he was ranked 12th (behind Lundkvist who was 10th). Both him, and Lundkvist had what one would consider "meh first seasons" after crossing from Europe. Heinola was ranked 35th this year. Bourque was ranked 30th. Assuming Lundkvist took a slight fall like Heinola, I would say they are pretty close in terms of prospect "ranking". No it is not a perfect science, but you are talking about a pretty much guaranteed middle six center vs 2nd pairing defenseman and PP QB. Both can rise or fall based on that line but that's where it's looking for both of their projections. Dellandrea just doesn't cut it as he hasn't lived up to the draft pedigree of a 13th overall pick. He's like Kravtsov in that manner.
