Strange one, imo. Montreal would have to add in this scenario, but in reality - they pass.

Romy is two years younger and the habs can't afford to sell assets for a guy who makes them better NOW.

Really doesnt do anything for the Habs. Romanov is much better defensively, 2 years younger and cheaper contract wise. If Girard was a RHD id do it but he isnt

MTL would have to add significantly for that to be something COL would entertain.

romanov is terrible in transition. the avs are built on an elite transition. terrible fit for the avs. they shouldn't even consider it.

Its a matter of Girards injury, how bad is it? MTL wins this trade if he makes a full recovery but who knows how long that will even take.

If Girard was gonna be on LTIR all year and was guaranteed to make a 100% recovery Habs take it and run, if there's doubt over his future they stay away

Bruh, he hasn't gotten a chance to play his offensive game yet but literally his only offensive tool right now is his breakout pass out of the zone

what are you talking about he's played 2 seasons. he's had plenty of opportunity to play an offensive game. he's bad transitioning. maybe a fit for another team but a poison pill for the avs. avs take guhle or take barron back instead.

girard is 24 on an underpaid 5 year contract. he's only a year older than suzuki. does that mean suzuki doesn't fit the rebuild? he'd be an interesting piece

Literally his words, that was his offseason assignment because they want him to play more offensive role next year... and I don't care what avs want HE AIN'T GETTING TRADED FOR AN OLDER PLAYER.

Suzuki is 22 just coming off his ELC contract, Girard is an undersized defensive liability who by the time habs are ready to make a deep run will have 1 or 2 years left on his contract

so does that mean he's available? hes only a year older. he'd be a nice piece. girard will be 27 by then. comes with a great contract, playoff experience and likely a cup. all of which the habs need. habs dont have anyone like him on the team right now.
