LOL what? If anything FLA is adding a 1st to the deal. No way in hell Caps are adding anything to that.

Bob is a good goalie he gets a lot of hate But he is still a great goalie and with salary retained his value is basically normal. It's really his contract that leads him to get the hate.

FLA is not giving away Bob with that much retained. Bob is still a top 5 goalie, 4th in the league in Goal Saved above expected. The Panthers won't add a first to that deal.

Its is a lot to retain but Florida is a team that is extremely desperate to get cap space for the Huberdeau Contract and you have Spencer Knight Right There, it makes getting rid of Bob for more assets somewhat realistic in my opinion.

If the caps are going to spend 6x4 on a goalie who has been good just as much as they have been awful the past three years, they should sign Kuemper or Campbell. Not only are they taking on Bob's age 34-38 (!!!) seasons, they are doing a massive favor to FLA in opening up room to improve their roster elsewhere. Would take at least the equivalent of a first round pick coming back to the caps, even retained.

I don't disagree Keumper/ Campbell is probably a better option in the long run. But Bob is definitely the best option Now and When you Alex Ovechkin on your Team you have to put the best possible team on the ice that you can. Florida isn't gonna be able to improve their roster too much as Huberduea is doing for a big raise and their losing their starting goalie.

If he wasn't about to turn 34 and have 4 more years on his deal I'd take him... but he's 34 with 4 more years on his deal.

Florida doesn't have a first in the next 3 drafts so unless you want to wait until 2025 for that pick then maybe

Don't get me wrong he had a great season this past year but he is no more likely to have a great season next year than Campbell, Kuemper, Lehner, Varlamov, or even Mrazek. The acquisition costs on all of those guys range from low to nothing to gaining assets, so FLA would really need to make it worth the Caps' time to take Bob off their hands.

Lundell, Weegar, or Bennet would all help the caps!

The Panthers would maybe consider Bennett, but definitely not Lundell or Weegar
