question though -- who are your ideal adds this off season for us?

The same as the Los Angeles targets -- Fiala, Forsberg or Palat; Chychrun or a similar LD (we could afford Provorov or Sergachev more easily than the Kings). Ethan Bear might be a nice add for us and should be cheap, and Vince Trocheck from the same source is a possibility. But all of those guys are against the odds (except Bear).

What I'm really hoping for is a Troy-Terry-like breakthrough from one of our prospects, like McTavish or Perreault.

Lundestrom quite possibly is the next in line to break out, albeit I don't mean so much that he'll score boat loads of points but rather that he becomes an impact player. You also have Comtois and Milano as guys that could easily take another step.

McTavish I'll be happy with if he simply makes the roster and doesn't flounder. The other prospects are just long shots to even make the roster much less break out.

The key adds have to be on defense. The team can't trade away Lindholm and Manson and expect to get better from within this season.

Ahh okay okay. I’m ready for the Comtois trade to start chugging along again

I’d like Fiala but not sold, I think I could prefer Boeser potentially for a Comtois Zegras Terry & McTavish Henrique Boeser top 6

Add Hague and bring Manson back on a 2-3 year deal on defense for me as well (dream world would be bringing Cernak in)

Cernak or Hague would be GREAT adds.

I'm not a Boeser fan at his probable price. He strikes me as a Josh-Anderson-kind-of risk.

That’s fair. I think I’d cap it at Boston 1st and Steel for what I would give up assuming a contract was agreed to before the trade (6 x $6,250,000ish)

In my mind, Comtois, Lundestrom and Milano have already proven to me (if not to others) that they are legitimate NHLers, so I wasn't considering them as "breakthrough" candidates. But yea, I'm hoping that they continue their development. And I'm cautiously optimistic.

That's fair enough that you are using the term break through a bit differently than I.

You compared it to Terry who was a legit NHL player prior to last season then last season he took the next step. I was being quite literal in how I interpreted that.

EDIT - LOL, it just occurred to me that if we're talking about taking a next step first in that line should be Zegras. That kid isn't any where close to his ceiling yet.
