Florida has to be one of the teams who will be very interested. Especially with a Maurice hiring. He will be begging zito to bring in his little buddy wheeler. No idea what a trade would look like tho.

Wheeler is from Minnesota and would likely be on his 5 team trade list.

Which team would be the highest bidder instead?

Since Wheeler admitted that he was a large part of the problem this year, maybe he should man up and accept the consequences and if there was a trade on the table, he should waive his NMC or NTC as a penalty of his failed leadership this pass year.

TB doesn't come close Palat and Paul would both eat the salary required before JBB even considered a Wheeler deal

Thats a ridiculous statement are you going to give him the money he didn't take for having the NTC . Players pay for that with either AAV or TERM or both.

So, I think the big benefit to WPG is the best extra cap space. Maybe you could flip Wheeler for Toews but that seems a stretch.

MIN is in cap hell because of the Suter and Parise buyouts.

I don't think Wheeler would accept a trade to Chicago though.

There’s not really any way to punish him besides restricting ice time or trading him. You can’t expect him to waive his M-NTC. Just find a team that works that’s on his list, seems like florida could be that team.

Signs a 5 year 8.25 mil per deal and he is not living up to it? He got that contract because he was to be the leader, even if his point totals are in decline.

Consequences are rare in the NHL. Look at Bogosian, he forces a contract termination in BUF and then wins a Stanley Cup in TBL.

Zito is not dumb... He will not trade for an overpaid, old winger like wheeler. That is the last thing the team needs.

I’m aware where he’s from, I watched him play when he was 16 in HS. MN has no cap space from when we signed Parise and Suter. We have no cap space for Blake.

MIN is in cap hell because of the Suter and Parise buyouts.

The buyouts actually saved us cap space, it’s really from signing those 2 players originally. The buyouts happened to ensure no cap recapture penalties occurred if we traded them.

sorry mistake "aren't in decline". See I admit my mistake, sucked it up and I corrected it.

cool wasn't saying that to you but he's got a guarenteed contract and gave up some cash for the NTC and would be foolish IMO to waive without some form of compensation which they can't do.
