Detroit probably accepts, If we sign one of Andrew Copp, Ryan Srome or Vincent Trocheck as our 2C.

Detroit declines, Suter is the perfect 3C for Detroit and won't be traded for that and absolutely not with retention included.

Even then i probably still keep him as our 3C, He should really thrive there.

Detroit is short a center already. They would probably need both a legitimate 2C addition and then would need to find a better 3C than Suter to take the package. More than fair value-wise, but Detroit needs other pieces to fall first before they pull the trigger, and even then they may just move him to the wing. I think Detroit fans are very much hoping that those pieces fall into place for us so we can make a move like this, though.
