Wings Decline. Rasmussen and Zacha are basically the same except Ras is much cheaper and we get to keep the 3rd.

Everyone knows it's spelled Slakoolskey, since Cooley ends in -ey.

It’s meant to be one of:

Logan Cooley
Juraj Slafkovsky

The two players most likely to be picked 2nd at draft next month.

Only new Jersey fans think this is at all realistic for fiala. Minnesota easily decline. They aren't waiting until 2024 to get a 1st round pick, on top of fact that you heavily protected it for playoff? Minnesota will gladly trade fiala elsewhere

It’s too much protection but i’ve seen this framework get good feedback from wild fans. Your the only one i’ve seen crying about it

No wild fans have done thus, none. Show proof that one wild fan would agree to this. There's a reason wild fans have called out new Jersey fans as it's all come from Jersey fans

Yeah please do. Because most wild fans have said 2022 protected, not 23

Detroit passes, Yzerman is really high on Michael Rasmussen. Plus he's much cheaper than Pavel Zacha and we will need some cheap contracts as well.

What pieces would you change? We certainly have assets we can move. Boqvist I thought was good fit and likely cheap. Stillman and picks will likely be useful once Minnesota emerges from buyout years. But i think NJD fans are open to alternatives as long as they are reasonable.

The idea behind Zacha to Detroit was to play center there. I am indifferent on Rasmussen vs alternative package, but generally do feel Pavel gets move to play 2C/3C somewhere that wants a young center.

I agree with our friend here that the protection on the pick is likely only going to be granted for this years 2OA. The Wild I think would just take someone else’s offer that won’t have us waiting two years to draft. If I were BG though and NJD came to me with this, I’d indicate I don’t want Boqvist, and that I’d give you top 12 protection if you give me bottom 16 protection — if it’s a 17 or lower pick in 2023 (and this pushes to 2024) then I get your 2023 second while I wait to pick the following year.
In place of Boqvist, I wouldn’t do the trade unless I got Foote, Gritsyuk or Mukmawhateverhisnameis.
NJD is an ascending team and picking up a top scorer in this deal- they shouldn’t need the protection…it’s a trade there is inherent risk involved.

MN declines. Don’t want either player. Maybe 2023 top 3 protected first, Thompson, and Zacha. But I’m not sure that beats LAK or Sens offer.

Wild decline. Not even close to a respectable offer per usual on here lately. Here is a pig and let's put some lipstick on it, kind of offer

I don't know how you can justify that much protection on the pick. The rest is just a bunch of nothing.

A "realistic" or "reasonable" offer is probably some variation of:
Holtz+2nd
or
2023 1st (top 3 protected)+Gritsyuk

Maybe Gritsyuk + the picks above Is the meet-in-the-middle deal. But may be a little rich for me.

We would only have to worry about Sens or Kings offers if Fiala wants to sign there. Any of these deals will need Fiala approval since he would be signing extension.

Minnesota is likely going to have one option for a pork producer, lipstick or not. So if they need a pig, that’s your pig. No auctions here.

Fiala has shown his top two interests in signing are: 1) getting paid “what he feels he’s worth” and 2) feeling loved by the organization. That’s what Russo has speculated on for over a year. I see zero reason to believe Fiala will force BG into any actions. Thus, there will be a bidding war for Fiala.

I was using someone else’s “lipstick on a big” analogy. Wasn’t mine. I would never seek to call anyone a pig.

If Fiala wants top dollar, he will want to talk to all teams (window opens day after draft). If Minnesota waits that long, he could just sign QO and become UFA next year. That creates much bigger mess for Wild. If Guerin allows him to speak to teams earlier, he will chose his top choice, and force Guerin's hand.

There is no scenario that I can see that leads to bidding war unless Fiala says I will sign all offers everywhere.
