Trade 2

Initial Creation Date: Jun. 22, 2022

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
alright adjusted the trades based on what was said last time
added to san jose(no one actually gave anything specific)
and changed the montreal one to be a rh dman and a c/lw

the way i break it down right now
is that drouin has almost negative value at the full cap hit
at half he could be worth something
but the real part of the deal is trading away mrazek and adding dadanov
which i think has been properly compensated

also after looking at the san jose page i noticed they had few center based prospects showing up so i added 2 prospects that have played center for some part of the last 3 years and 1 who specializes in it

Reimer says no to the first trade. 2nd trade is original. Not saying either team likes it.

You have to pay the Canadiens to take Mrazek.

That's a pretty awful trade for Montreal.

If Montreal's eating half of both Dadonov and Drouin AND taking on Mrazek, they're going to need more than a likely late 1st and two prospects they don't need at all. Montreal in particular would probably want the 1st just for taking Mrazek.

hey if you say so
just for curiosity sake what would you value Drouin at

and what do you know about either prospect that would lead you to belive that they would not need them at all?

At 50% for a year? Something around a 2nd. Anything less and I'd prefer to hang onto him and see how he looks in the season and move him at the deadline.

And its not really about the prospects in general, its about Montreal's system depth. They've been collecting guys since the 2018 draft, many of whom they need to sign now, and have a mess of picks coming up. Unless they're getting higher end prospects, there's a contract-limit issue. I've got lots of friends who are Leafs fans though and know neither is a top-10 prospect in their system, so its not really worth it for Montreal.

Drouin is the exact type player the leafs don't need, soft soft soft. He also seems to ware out his welcome wherever he plays.
