Don't think the Kings will give up a 1st in addition to Durzi.

Too much for Durzi's extension too. He's going to get 2 years around $1.25M or 3 years around $1.5M.

Kings say no. Canes wouldn’t offer that deal to Vancouver. Edmonton likely says no too

We don't need another prospect on the level of Kaliyev, Turcotte or Vilardi at that price. If we trade Durzi and our 2022 first, it will be in a package for someone more significant like Jakob Chychrun or Kevin Fiala. Don't get me wrong -- Necas is a great young player with a bright future. But that isn't our objective this off-season.

I suspect if the Oilers feel they can't extend JP they will look for something a bit more substantive than what you have offered. I'm sure the desired return includes a good, young, NHL player who fits a team need and is under team control for at least two seasons. Depending on the quality of that player, a draft pick, or solid prospect might be required.

There is a risk Edmonton could lose Puljujarvi if he receives a wildly over-valued qualifying offer from some other team, but that is part of the business.
