Detroit probably takes that and runs, Doubt Edmonton does it. McDavid is worth still more than just Edvinsson, Seider and Raymond. We lose 1/3 of our blueline. Plus i'd rather have Raymond on McDavids wing to see what he can do.

The only players in the league with remotely close value to Mcdavid right now are Makar and Matthews. Mackinnon is close but because he only has 1 year left on his deal I don’t put him up there right now. To acquire a guy like Mcdavid is literally franchise changing which means anything or anyone not listed above is available. Seider and Raymond had solid years but combined aren’t even close to matching mcdavids value. Throw in edvinsson who looks great but hasn’t even played an nhl game yet so there’s a little risk and it’s still not close in my opinion. To acquire Mcdavid Detroit would have to give up seider, Raymond, edvinsson, cossa and 2 1sts

Not sure about that as my argument for trading a player like McDavid is that every team that has ever won a cup didn't have him on it, so he obviously isn't a necessity for winning

Detroit is a rebuilding team and no rebuilding team trades away three of their young future stars for one older player, regardless of who he is.

Unless McDavid can play both wing and both LD and RD at the same time this is a nonsense trade from the Detroit perspective. Yzerman isn't going to give up his best defender and his two best prospects for anything.
