Is this too much, not enough, or just right to make this trade happen if Montreal likes Slavkovsky more than Wright? I would assume in this situation Montreal says they want Wright but uses that leverage to try and pry some extra things from Minnesota.

You definitely need to add to the Habs trade.

Maybe, Khusnutdinov?

Updated. How does this look? Probably should have put someone other than Hunter Jones

If you get #2 overall just take Cooley and be done with it.

Yeah I’d take out Jones, don’t know what value he has. Maybe throw in Addison (or a different D prospect), 24 and maybe the 2nd for 2OA. That’s a lot of value.

But I agree with Xqb15a, I’d just take Cooley at 2.

Yeah, I figured that would make the most sense but I was curious if Montreal fell in love with Slavkovsky if there was any way that Wright could be acquired reasonably. At this cost, I would rather hold #2 as well, hope MTL drafts Slavkovsky and if not just take Cooley.

Yeah, that's my thought as well. Too much going on here.

I personally like Cooley’s upside more than Wrights anyways. I would take Cooley #1 overall. He’s a soon to be Gopher though, so I might be a little biased.

Honestly, if the Habs were stupid enough to take Slafkovsky with the 1st OVA and Wright was there for the taking at #2.

I'd still take Cooley with the 2nd OVA. He has the biggest upside out of anyone in this draft.

The best for Minn is the closest to being NHL ready.

I disagree. The best is getting a legit top c in here. No need to rush them.

Doubt it, they can't afford miss on goaltending and they need some security as well, so unless Talbot is coming with a cheaper extension for a year and they have another goalie for their tandem secured, Mrazek gone.

If they are planning to compete in the dead cap years, they should get whoever is best now since they all have potential. Getting a replacement for Fiala should be a priority, if they are confident someone within the lineup/organization can already replace him, then sure let them take their time.

They should still be trying to win since Kaprizov isn't getting any younger and they wouldn't want to do anything that makes him not want resign when his contract is up.

Slafkovsky was asked if he could play center by teams, I have no idea what his response was. That being said I think Montreal wants to get both Wright and Slafkovsky, 1 and 2.
