For 1 year of Pasta? That’s a bad trade…

We did a trade with a similar structure in the past and it didn’t work out well

If Pasta said he wanted to be moved i would have a hard time not liking this deal. Send him to the west coast out of conference and get Eklund back who would pair really well with Lysell. The only thing is I would assume the Pastrnak extension conversation would happen after the draft so that pick may end up being 2023.

I know the Pasta rumors have no real foundation but I think it's a fair offer. Pasta with Hertl is too tempting...

I agree - I think if it went that way this would be a deal the bruins would have to look hard at. Eklund could be really really good.

So would I. But with all the sharks fans/writers talking about getting Pasta, this is what it would take probably.

Why are the sharks moving the best prospect they have had in a decade for a rental?

Obviously he would be re-signed. Eklund is not a better prospect than Timo. Weird comment.

Yes he is, Eklund was top 5 in most rankings. Timo was top 15 in his, don’t think anyone had him top 10

Timo was in the deepest draft since 2003 and maybe ever. 2021 was not a deep draft. I don't project Eklund to be as valuable a player as Timo, unfortunately.

100% agree with this statement. but this deal is BAD this forces either Meier out or we give up a gigantic piece of our future for 1 year of Pasta and this isn’t a cup worthy team that justifies the deal. even with the Seguin for Burns deal thrown in.

This doesn’t seem like a good move for the Sharks. Does it push them into contender territory? I don’t think so and it stretches out the rebuild for another couple of years beyond what it could be

I am aware of this this is purely an example of what it would take to get Pastrnak. A lot of sharks media and fans have been talking about wanting to get him this summer and this is the reality of the price.I wouldn't do this if I were GM. I vastly prefer Eklund, Wiesblatt and our 11th OA
