Description
Alright, so, off the bat, there’s a few issues here.

The majority of this post is banking on a few miracles.
- Miracle #1: Copp is willing to resign at that dollar amount. Surely he’ll get offered more on the open market, but he seemed to have a nice groove here in New York.
- Miracle #2: Othmann is ready to go. Othmann had one hell of a season in Juniors, but that doesn’t mean he’s ready for the show. He has an NHL ready shot, and his skating is up there, it’s just a matter of if he can put it all together.
- Miracle #3: We can sign Lindgren from UFA. Now I’m kind’ve joining the bandwagon on this one. Most of the recent NYR posts on here have one of Lindgren/Comrie/Wedgewood backing Shesterkin up. I’ve simply chosen Lindgren due to family ties (Ryan), and the fact that St. Louis already has Binnington and will be looking to resign Husso. However on the flip side, it could also be easier for St. Louis to let Husso walk and run a tandem of Binnington-Lindgren. It’s anyones guess at this point.
- Miracle #4: Kravtsov is ready for a Top 6 role. Kravtsov is the perfect Vatrano replacement. After a solid season in the KHL, I think he can handle the responsibilities of riding shotgun with Zibanejad and Kreider.

I know that was a lot to read, so thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

    Future Considerations

(In this case, I have Nemeth going to Arizona, but this can be any team).
    ARI
    1. Nemeth, Patrik
    2. Richards, Justin [RFA Rights]
    3. 2024 4th round pick (NYR)
    Additional Details:
Richards is a solid prospect. He had a down year in the AHL, but given his previous seasons, he’ll 100% bounce back. I think he can turn into a solid bottom 6 guy.
    2.
    NYR
    1. 2022 3rd round pick (CAR)
    2. 2023 7th round pick (MTL)
    Additional Details:
2023 7th turns to a 2023 (or 2024) 5th if Georgiev wins 20 or more games in the 2022-2023 season.

If Price isn’t ready to come back, and Primeau isn’t ready, I can see the Habs having some success with a Allen-Georgiev tandem
    MTL
    1. Gauthier, Julien [RFA Rights]
    2. Georgiev, Alexandar [RFA Rights]
    Additional Details:
Gauthier took some steps in the right direction this season. He’s just as fast as a guy like Kreider, and if he were to finish on the majority of his breakaways this year, he could’ve easily scored 15-20. As much as I like him, we don’t have any room for him, and he would be rotting down in Hartford.

True, but my point still stands. I think a new-scenery Georgiev is better than him. I could be wrong, but it’s just my two-cents.

Ok then, you also forgot MTL doesn’t even have the money right now to resign Alexander Romanov and Rem Pitlick because of the Dadonov-Weber trade. Georgiev QO is around 2.5M m, which is way too high for MTL to consider

Yeah right but we’re gonna receive cap going our way
      I’m good with Price-Allen-Montembeault-Primeau

Ehhh, I think it’s pretty likely Price has played his last game. I love him as a goalie (in fact he was my #2 favorite next to Lundqvist), but whether it’s LTIR or buyout, I think he’s done. Knee injuries are hard to come back from for any athlete, especially an NHL goaltender. For the games he played this season, he just didn’t look comfortable. It was very reminiscent of Rask.

The Habs brass really need to know if Price is ready or not. But that answer won’t come until October when he’s in games.

If Kravtsov and Othmann are ready and the kid line takes the next step, that’s a nasty roster. Definitely in trouble next year if you can’t move Trouba.

No team is entering the season with only 125k in cap, Cuylle probably has better chance to play for NYR next year than Othmann does, Copp deal looks accurate but think Motte forfeits some term to get a higher aav, who’s the 7D?

While from a depth perspective this is a fantastic outcome. From a long term perspective this is terrible.
You have the kids on the third line again, which is stunting their growth clearly.
Both the coach and Gm have said both laf and kk should be in the top 6 next year.
Signing Copp takes away from the cap room needed in 23 to sign both miller and Laf, who will be both more expensive than KK was.
I like Copp. But we can't afford him if we want to keep the kids together.
