17th OA for 26th and 62nd isn't fair deal. Preds pass easly.
Look at the Detroit-Dallas trade from the previous year.
15tg OA for 23, 48 and 138. And this draft class wasn't really strong (except current one).
So here it should be 17th OA for 26th and 33th.
LOL, I couldn't remember where the Oilers pick was. I agree it needs to be the Habs pick then.

Considering that as a pure rental in 2 years Dubois gets a 1st and a prospect minimum I would imagine this generates no interest from Winnipeg.
2 years of PLD>>3years of Dvorak
Unneeded LD prospect = 0 value to Winnipeg
2 late firsts = close to rental price in 2 years for PLD.
All in all equals no incentive for Winnipeg to move PLD now.
You are right Dubois is better than Dvorak, hence the reason for the other additions to the trade. However lets not forget that this also saves the Jets cap space (about 2 mil or so depending on the PLD extension)
Fair enough swap Norlinder for Ylonen or Farrell if you want.
2 late 1sts? The Preds is 17th OVA, so mid round and Montreal still won't be a playoff team next year hence the top 10 protection so it will also be an early to mid 1st rounder with the potential to be an unprotected 1st in 2024 if the Habs do end up drafting in the top 10.
The incentive for the Jets is to recoup assets for him before he walks in FA, there will not be many other offers for him when other teams know he will walk in 2 years. I think that PLD announcing that he plans on walking in FA was one of the worst things that could have happened for the Jets to get full value.
