Description
This is a total planner. Nothing on the opinion front. Trying to fit pieces. Trade more then likely won't happen. 16 mill coming off the roster next year to resign people. Once the 410 Mill for HRR comes off from the players the Salary Cap goes up.

Additional Details:
Yes I know I don't want either to go either but you have to make room for less expensive kids coming up from the minors and I need the 5 mil. 7 months ago Sam Girard was in an offer for Eichel and I'm basing my valuation on it. Krebs and Cozens aren't Elite so I need add in value to make this trade. How much is a Top PP QB worth and potential 1 pairing D. Remember Makar has set the D bar to Offense. The world is moving to more maneuverable D. The Days of the lumbering giants are over.

  1. Compher, J.T.

Love JT but have to dump salary.

I don't have an issue with the value for value for Hardman and Compher, but that doesn't help the Hawks in any way. You're asking that the Hawks move a young player for an older player on a higher salary while the hawks are rebuilding. As you pointed out, that's a salary dump, and the only way the Hawks do that is if a pick or prospect comes along with Compher. The Hawks aren't going to help other teams out of their salary cap issues just to be nice. They're gonna want something in return for that.

Letang won't sign for less than 8 million a year likely, even for what would probably be a guaranteed cup.

Ya, sabres definitely aren't making that trade.

They already have two elite left dmen who take priority over Girard. How are cozens and Krebs not potentially elite players?

I'm sure Buffalo would jump at the chance to trade 2 of their top center prospects who are only 21 years old for a 2nd pairing Dman who isn't getting PP time over Dahlin and Power with a 4th liner as a sweetener.

In fairness, Girard plays the right side on a regular basis, but yeah, I wouldn't be trading Cozens if I was Buffalo. Lots of wildness in this ACGM though...

This really bad for buffalo. I don't think either player would be offered for this package. Let alone both.
Back to drawing board for you.

I don't disagree. If the AVS have to sweeten the pot it could happen. I chose hardman because he fit the profile. Compher bring certain positive factors to the Hawks. Intangibles. He is a bulldog, a glue guy. His cap hit is short lived but Avs can't afford the money for the time. If they dont' get hardman they get another just like him on another team.

I disagree. People want to end their careers on winners. Pitts is not a Cup team. Avs are. The chance to play with a Makar will make him take the chance for a cup.

I disagree. The chance to get a PP QB plus a 1st pairing D man is worth to prospects. Not to mention a long term 5 mil contract for a D man these days is too juicy to pass up. If the AVs didn't have makar, Teows, Byrum we would even go this way.

He wants a chance to raise the cup. A short term deal plus a cup will make it happen.

Just that they are potentially Elite players but they aren't elite players. makar undress Cozens and krebs hasn't show he can be more then a middle player. Yes Buffalo has 2 1st pairing D man but they don't have a Offensive play Girard has.

You clearly have never watched either play or any sabres game for that matter. They don't need another LHD since dahlin and power are just plain more skillful then Girard.

That chance to? They already have two. The two players they are giving up have essentially the same controlled years. This makes no sense

For the first time in his career (potentially the last) he has a chance to cash in as a starting goalie. He can make an extra $1-2million, for 1-3 more seasons, on another good/contending team and still try for the cup-- Leafs or otherwise.
