IF this deal is presented and IF San Jose is willing to eat $3M+ on his contract, I'd take the deal.

I'm willing to take a $5M risk on Burns given his track record, if it's not going to cost Johnston, Bourque, or Stankoven

Yup, my thoughts exactly.

Add in Harley to that list too (if you still consider him a prospect). Dellandrea would be the furthest prospect I’d give up for that caliber of player, or for any upgrade. The other 3 are detrimental to this teams future, they cannot afford to lose them.

Only thing I’d do differently is get rid of Suter and get a guy like Bear or Montour, but we all know Nill won’t do that.

What's your take on Dellandrea? @EsoYeezus69 as well?

Good prospect, developed well both ways of the game, but with other prospects like Bourque, Stankoven and Johnston, he can be expendable.

He probably maxes out as a 2nd line winger/3rd line center. His style of game his more or less two way.

don't think San Jose would retain 3 mil for this return. Definitely 2, maybe 2.5.

Maybe add an extra mid pick? If there’s close to no retention then I’d rather look elsewhere. Burns is good don’t get me wrong, but Dallas doesn’t have the best cap flexibility and there’s a lot of other options who’re maybe worst, but cheaper. Anything over 6 million should be a no go.

yeah I mean with 2 million in retention that puts y'all at 6 million. For 3 million retention I'd probably want another 2nd.

Another 2nd would be a pass for me. If it’d be Burns at 30 maybe, but he’s 37. Two 2nds plus a pretty good prospect is way too much for someone at that age.

If that’s the cost Dallas should 100% pass.

just the 2nd. I've seen this trade a few times proposed so not too original but I think it's fair.

Too much retention imo. I think 2mil retained is more realistic and still a good deal for Dallas. I don’t think the sharks are super interested in dellandreas fit on our team so they would rather get pure picks

Yeah that’s fair, I’d see Dallas looking into that. Would need to look into ways to shed cap to make it happen.

With 2 million retention I’d look into a 2nd, or something close to that.

I would hate for us to use very nice assets to trade for yet another Vet player but I can see Nill doing just that.

I think Nill will buy out Dobby.

Rather trade Dobby with a low pick and buyout Suter and Faksa.

Nill signed him to a 4 year contract, he’ll personally make sure he plays with Miro.

If it was just me, I’d buy him out.
