I agree I don't either, the 23 draft is stacked, but i'm just taking the words of Chuck, plus the type of hire that is Torts, as they are going to try and get this team competitive again immediately.

I don't think it's so far fetched either. We were horrid last year, there is no doubt. We were legit starting defenders like Yandle, Seeler, Connauton, as well as countless rookies. This not only hurts team defense, it hurts Carter Hart. If Torts can implement his system and work with Chuck to find a FA or two that defend his way, and combine them with the current top 4 of Provy, Sanheim, York, and Ellis (Gd willing), we could very well improve our GAA. Adding a healthy Coots and Hayes also helps immensely, and maybe a trade or FA signing up here, would help play the team defense oriented system Torts like.
