Ah those loveable Krakdudes in Seattle just giving up picks for a bunch of rentals as if Kerfoot, Holl and Kase are the three guys that will make up the (+/-) 37ish points to get a playoff spot. What a kind bunch!

Honestly Kerfoot and Holl would have value at the deadline. Worst case scenario you should be able to recoup your assets at the deadline the same way Detroit did with Leddy. Just try not to land Oscar Sundqvist in the deal lol.

Easy no from Seattle to trade picks just to finish out of the playoffs.(as Lenny7 eloquently described above).
Fact is Anderson is middling player making way too much and his term may not age well. No way the Leafs trade for him...especially for that haul.
Nothing in for the Hawks to take on Mrzarek

Yeah, I mean they *should*, but an injury to either means that they just paid for nothing. IMO, you just keep your picks, and live large...Grab a 1 year UFA or 2, and flip them if you're not in it. I'm slowly falling into a "Max Domi wouldn't be a bad option on the Kraken" train, tbh, but if they signed him, they'd probably give him 20 friggin' years or something foolish hahaha

I thought it was going to be easy to blast a Habs fan for posting this, as it's so awful it hurts.

But you're a supposedly a Leafs fan, which makes me confused on why you would do something like this?

Hard no from MTL.

We don’t ne another small forward, especially at the expense of a big forward.

We don’t need another LHD. We have Edmundson, Romanov, Guehle, Harris, Norlinder, Struble, Fairbrother, Xjekac…

It just doesn’t fit team needs (cap relief, RHD prospects, size & skill at forward)

There are few teams with cap in the next few seasons. Heck some teams are having trouble with cap holding onto their RFAs never mind UFAs. Teams like Seattle, Detroit, Ottawa, Jersey, Anaheim can be very selective in in the next couple of years on how they increase their cap spending. Just like there are lots of teams trying to dump cap on a few teams, I kinda think soon, there are going to lots of UFAs looking for a big payday but few teams being able to afford them.

Agreed. As a Ducks fan, my hope is that we get overpaid to take on 1 or 2 one year dumps this year, and use those assets to continue building into the future. The idea of just helping teams out for the heck of it seems like poor asset management. If I could get a Stralman-type dump (1 year, $5.5mil=2nd+recent 2nd in Kolyachonok), I'd do it in a heartbeat. Any less would be foolish, and giving up any sort of picks for rentals with the hope of flipping them at the deadline is just way too dangerous.
