Created this team because a Kraken fan annoyed me

Created by: FloridaPuck
Team: 2022-23 Seattle Kraken
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 22, 2022
Published: Jun. 23, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
-Plenty of Cap Space and draft picks remain
-Boston needs to clear cap space and Seattle needs defensive help
-Florida needs to clear cap space and Hornqvist is a solid vet
-Minnesota needs a guy who can penalty kill effectively, and Wennberg is paid a lot and no longer needed. This is a stretch trade but I wanted to emphasize that Wennberg no longer makes sense on Seattle and Minnesota's Penalty kill is bad.

Zadarov 6.5 mil?!?! That's at least twice what he should be getting.

That's fine then sign for less. I really just am trying to make a point that Seattle can make moves specifically the Hornqvist trade and still have cap space

How very spiteful of you!! I won't bother you with the same response to your asinine trade proposal to Florida as before!! (If anyone else on here thinks Seattle should trade down in the draft for the privilege of adding Hornqvist, please step up . . . I can annoy you, too!!!)

I get the point but hornq is a cap dump so it would probably be a 3rd to dump him with no return other than that beautiful, elusive cap space. Don’t disagree that SEA would be a fine destination if they choose not to load up on UFAs, but they’re also not going to help teams out out of the kindness of their heart.

Just because they have cap space doesn't mean they have to use it. If I'm Francis I try to getting something with Hornqvist to make it worthwhile. Otherwise, why wouldn't you just sign a UFA?

Yes, of course they can . . . but Seattle doesn't exist to be the one team in the league that should take on other teams undesirable players/contracts at their cost, brother. You can devalue the Kraken roster all you want---as you did the first time you posted this---but you are mistaken to think Hornqvist has any more value to this club than any other franchise. To be honest, his value is irrelevant. Francis is a failure as a GM if he is paying assets for a player that the rest of the league will not.

I didn't say Hornqvist has more value to the kraken? I think he's a valuable player for any team. He provided 2.04 pts/60 as a 4th liner. On a team that doesn't have 3 great lines, he wouldn't have played on the 4th line. The Panthers clearly valued him more than McCann, Sheahan, Driedger, and Wennberg. If him and Bob end up staying with the Panthers then fine. I'm just creating teams for fun here.

I think you should go back and read our previous exchanges to see how I might have "interpreted" you thinking he would be more valuable to the Kraken.

Sorry to ruin your fun.

How exactly would Minnesota be able to afford Wennberg, even if they had a smidge of interest in him?

Also, pure cap dumps usually don't net you a return. Your return is the cap space.

In that vein, I'd opt for a much less vindictive title (and ACGM in general) when you don't like what someone has to say!

They can they have plenty of cap space even with that trade. I just don't see them getting a Johnny Hockey, Filip Forsberg, Geno, Bergeron. If I'm a top free agent I see they were bottom 5 in goals I don't think I'm going there. Also the defense can get better. I think their goalies will be better next year, but the team is gonna need a lot of work. I hope I'm wrong because I like the city of Seattle and want their team to be good.

I understand your point, but what I’m saying is I think think they should get him for assets instead of taking him on with a draft pick or another player.

I said this back wards. Seattle should be getting assets in a Hornqvist trade. I think that’s the only way it’s really worth it.

The Wild currently have $6.5 million in cap room. Please explain to me why it would make sense for us to take on $4.5 million in a trade? That would leave us $2 million for Middleton, a goalie, a 13th forward, and a cushion for injuries.

Any trade we're making at this point will either be cap neutral or shed cap. We're already moving Fiala because signing him would be a massive pain to try to fit under the cap. Adding a bunch of money like this with nothing going out makes it so we can't even dress a full lineup.
