Gaudreau isn't signing that lowball offer. add about 1.5-2 to his contract to get him

Why would Columbus take on a worse, older and more expensive player? At least Tex plays center decent. We don’t need wingers.

No motivation for the Jackets to give up Texier for that return. With how Drouin has been the last 3 years, Texier is likely the best player in the deal already.

I think Drouin is better but has just had awful luck/coaching the last 3 years. I can tell you might have a little bias towards Tex though, rightfully so hes nasty

Dadonov isn't going to waive his NTC to come to California. That's why you guys even have him in the first place.

Why would Gaudreau sign a low ball deal to a real builder team he has no connections with?

We wouldn't take Dadonov off waivers. And the Pittsburgh third, which might be in the top half of that round after next season, isn't "a late round pick."

never said it was a late round pick. I said he COULD go anywhere for a late round pick. I also said he can go anywhere, not the Kings.

That might be the case, but with Drouin being a rental he isn’t likely to be in Columbus when they are truly a competitive team, at least Texier is still an RFA after next season. I’d say you could probably get Texier for Calgary’s 1st if you really wanted him.

Don't think the value is horrible but I really don't see the caps as a fit for Petry. RD is probably their most set position, they already have a better ppqb in Carlson, and there are pretty massive holes on the roster elsewhere
