Right, but some other team could offer sheet Hague for $4,200,000 and only give up a 2nd.

I wouldn't trade our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for Roy and Hague, so why would I feel good about these offer sheets? Also, feels like a waste to make those moves and not use more of the cap space to add some free agents. Why give up your first 3 picks and then not try to compete?
